Why a tape

Liquid glue is
thirty years old.

Most factories still glue insoles the way it was done thirty years ago. Three things go wrong every shift:

It's slow. Brush, wait for solvent to flash off, press, wait again. The line stops while glue dries.

It's harmful. Solvent fumes mean fume hoods, respirators, masks — and chronic exposure for the operator regardless.

It's messy. Smudges on the insole edge, drips on the lining. Cleanup eats hours and rejects eat margin.

Italian factories solved this in 2007.
The solution is a tape.

01The system

Process
innovation.

Two complementary tapes meet at the machine. Adhesive transfers cleanly to one face — perfectly blocked, no smudges, no waste. The bond is mechanical: the more the shoe is walked in, the stronger it gets.

Four chemistries on traceable coded spools — leather, synthetics, foam, fabric. Wound for audit, lab-tested for adhesion, temperature and ageing.

02What changes

What you get
when you switch.

20% faster productionTape replaces brushing, drying and pressing — the line never stops to wait for glue.
One machine,
one operator
Footprint 0.5 m². One person preps insoles for every assembly line on the floor.
Solvent-free,
anallergic, transpirable
No fume hoods, no respirators, no occupational-health liability. The operator can simply breathe.
No fire riskLiquid solvent glues are flammable. Tape isn't.
Pre-glue and storeInsoles bonded offline. Storable up to twelve months without losing tack.
Survives
−40°C → +160°C
Tested across climate, transit and finishing heat — the bond stays bonded.
Stitchable —
no sticky needles
Solid adhesive, not paste. Needles stay clean. No production stops to wipe a head.

03The KYO range

Four machines.
One tape technology.

Different scales of production, the same K System chemistry — proven across a thousand factory floors.

KYO 100 — workhorse machine

KYO 100The workhorse

The main offline machine. One operator preps cleaning insoles for the entire production floor. Standard with extension surface, rewinder, insole tray. Footprint 0.5 m². Single-phase. No specialist skill required.

KYO 101

KYO 101The staging variant

Same as KYO 100 with the extension surface built in as standard. For factories that want the staging area integrated from day one.

KYO 500

KYO 500Small & large

Two physical sizes for higher-volume operations or wider insole formats. Choose by daily output and largest insole shape on your line.

KYO B20

KYO B20The compact

Smaller footprint for sample rooms, lower-volume lines, or factories adding a second machine to a busy floor.

04Applications

Beyond the
sock-lining.

K System was born for shoes. It also bonds bags, belts, zip carriers and steering-wheel leather wrap.

Rule of thumb: if the application is sheared rather than peeled, K System works. If it is peeled, ask us — we may suggest K Thermo or K Next instead.

05Roll economics

Cost per pair
— do the math.

For women's shoes: roughly four insoles per metre of tape.

06Common questions

Every objection,
answered.

How many people do I need to operate it?
One. The KYO is an offline machine — one operator preps insoles for every assembly line on the floor.
Does the operator need specialist training?
No. A thirty-minute walkthrough is enough.
What is the maximum insole thickness?
2–3 mm rigid. Up to 6 mm if the material is compressible.
How long can I store pre-glued insoles?
Up to twelve months. The pressure-sensitive adhesive does not degrade in storage when wound on its release liner.
Does the machine need cleaning at end of shift?
No. Just cover the exposed adhesive so no tape is wasted overnight.
Will the tape survive transit and finishing heat?
Yes. Independently tested from −40°C to +160°C — covers every climate, every container, every finishing process.
Can I use K System on leather goods, not just footwear?
Yes. Bags, belts, zip applications all work well — best for shear applications. If your application is peeled rather than sheared, ask us; we may suggest K Thermo or K Next instead.
